Synopsis
Married petty criminals Lou-Jean (Goldie Hawn) and Clovis Poplin (William Atherton) lose their baby to the state of Texas and decide to do whatever it takes to get it back. Lou-Jean gets Clovis out of prison and the two steal their son from his foster family. They also take a patrolman hostage. When they are pursued by a massive manhunt in Texas, the two become unexpected folk heroes and even develop a bond with the captured cop.
